Programs and Services
The ACS Patient Programs and Services offer services to help where they can during and after cancer treatment. There are resources that they provide patients with. They help to find resources that are free or low-cost. You can trust them to answer all questions you may have, no matter the type of battle you are fighting.
There may be times that the cancer patient will need to fly to receive treatment. They may even offer to help you with that. This will mean that you will be away from your home. In these times they will try to make it as comfortable as possible and make it easier for you and your family.
Sometimes you may need extended stay plans. They will offer and support you where they can through the lodging program which will be needed for your treatment. They understand your situation and know how difficult it is in these times.
Transportation
If there are times you may have trouble getting to your treatment, they will help with making arrangements. There are non-profit organizations that can arrange a driver. They call this our Road To Recovery. These are people who volunteer to drive a cancer patient who has no way to get to their appointment.
Helpline
There is a 24/7 cancer helpline that will provide their support and those who are dealing with cancer. They will guide you and give you all the information about the cancer you are dealing with. They can also provide information of specialists with all the necessary contact information needed. They have an ear to listen to because they are passionate to be there in your hour of need.
